Counselling

I do not think anyone necessarily needs counselling. I feel that counselling is the best alternative to a lack of credible independent information out there in the real world.

Counselling is just like your pre- and post-op conversations except that we can go into more detail about you and your life. You may wish to talk about how your appearance has affected you throughout your life. How did you used to feel about yourself? How do you feel now? How do friends and family respond to your appearance? This is an example of some of the questions you may wish to explore. The goal is to make you a well-informed patient. You are unique before and after surgery.

Counselling can be offered as individual sessions or group sessions and although you will have your own unique set of circumstances some things we go all through.

You may wish to talk about:

  • your thoughts on surgery
  • your reactions to surgery
  • follow-up appointments
  • coping with pain
  • coping with healing
  • waiting for final results
  • your expectations
  • reality of change
  • other people's reactions
  • overall well-being
  • the future

Not just for patients

Counselling services are not just for patients.

Aesthetic professionals are welcome too.

We also offer support and information services to educational institutions and government bodies too.
